Fees & Registration Details

Entry Fee
The Chicago River Swim is a charitable event, designed to raise critical funds for ALS research and local learn-to-swim initiatives. Each participant must pay a $50 non-refundable registration fee and commit to raise a minimum of $1,500 by Sunday, September 10, 2023 or cover the remaining amount on their own.
Participants are strongly encouraged to go above and beyond the $1,500 threshold, with awards offered to top fundraisers.
Refund and Transfer Policy
Once registration has been completed, refunds of any kind ARE NOT permitted. Entries cannot be transferred to other individuals. If someone else races under your name and is injured or causes an accident, that person will not be covered by the included athlete protection insurance. Additionally, if the athlete racing in your name causes injury or damage, you may be liable in part for those damages.
In the event of less than favorable water conditions in the river, event organizers will attempt to shift the event to Ohio Street Beach along an out-and-back course in Lake Michigan during a similar timeline.
In the event that neither venue is able to host an event, participants will be automatically deferred to the next year’s event. Thank you for understanding.
